Position Summary:

The sales associate is the first point of contact for all customers and a product expert. This position is responsible for working in a GNC store when scheduled. The incumbent will train to understand GNC products and policies to sell merchandise and interact with customers in a store environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Recommends and sells merchandise to customers by following GNC’s prescribed selling methods
  • Receives, checks and shelves merchandise orders in accordance with planogram
  • Assists the Store Manager in confirming purchase orders and managing the store’s inventory within GNC guidelines
  • Adhere to GNC’s quality control program for stock rotation, overall cleanliness and replenishment duties
  • Adheres and implements visual merchandising best practices in line with GNC guidelines under the supervision of the store manager or the assistant store manager
  • Responsible for keeping store appearance clean and uncluttered
  • Performs all register operations
  • Completes store open/close functions and bank deposits according to GNC policies and procedures, and as required by the Store Manager
  • Assists the Store Manager in adhering to GNC’s quality control program for stock rotation, infestation control, outside inspection, and all maintenance problem
  • Reads all merchandising bulletins in order to understand product assortment and answer product questions based on Company approved information
  • Completes all training materials and reads GNC newsletters and other information in a timely manner
  • Assists the Store Manager in the implementation of all appropriate merchandising information in an accurate and timely manner, ensuring GNC’s standard of store presentation
  • Ensures company assets are protected and not exposed to risks and conflicts of interest
  • Drive’ GNC’s loyalty programs and incentives for successful engagement of customers
  • Monitors sales targets and personal performance in order to meet or exceed expectations
  • Additional duties as assigned

Physical Aspects/Work Environment:

  • Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands or fingers to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear
  • Regularly/Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, colour vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Regularly/Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold & heat, risk of electrical shock, and toxic or caustic chemicals
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually low/moderate

  • Minimum high school diploma required
  • 1 year retail sales experience
  • Fluent language skills required to speak, read, and understand customers and GNC communications
  • Basic math skills to count, add, and subtract;
  • Strong interpersonal and ethical behavior to manage the company’s assets;
  • Excellent customer service skills to develop a relationship-selling culture
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and customers
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary
  • Available to work all shifts, as well as weekends and holidays
